On Wednesday 6 December, 43 SPW students performed to approximately 400 people at the Mary Potter Community Christmas Carols.
We attended as special guests in recognition of the work our school has done with the hospice this year.
We were lucky enough to be accompanied for “Rudolph the Rednose Reindeer” by the brass quintet from the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and Jenny Campbell for ‘This Song is For the Children’. The students were excellent and fantastic ambassadors for the school.
Throughout 2017 SPW has supported the work of The Mary Potter Foundation, raising much needed funds for patients and programs. The introductory speech really summed up the impact the school has made on the hospice. The students received many outstanding compliments from parents in attendance, Mary Potter staff, the professional ASO musicians and many strangers about the quality of singing and performance level. As always our SPW students have made us proud.
Thanks for Mr Mark DeLaine, Head of The Arts at SPW, for leading our choir at this important event.
