This year as we remember St Margaret of Scotland, patron Saint of Woodlands Girls’ School and of our school Chapel we will celebrate the Arts, particularly SPW’s musical heritage.
We are excited to welcome our very special guest Niki Visilakis to our service this year. Niki Vasilakis is regarded as one of the most exciting classical violinists to have emerged from Australia. She has performed as soloist with orchestras around the world and all the major Australian Symphony Orchestras.
‘Niki plays with tender love, a smooth velvet tone. Sensitively crafted and articulated.’ The Courier Mail
As we celebrates the Arts we would like to draw particular attention to the Chapel Music Awards that will be announced and some of them presented during the Service. The Awards were established in 2014 and continue to be awarded by the St Woodlands Old Scholars as a way of celebrating the Arts that were so important to many old scholars during their time at school. The Awards are given in recognition and celebration of the musical contributions made by members of the Chapel Choir and Chapel Band to the life of the Chapel.
Niki will join us throughout the Chapel service as she addresses the students and guests, performs a signature piece and participates in the presentation of the Chapel Music Awards.
