Groups of Year 5 students have been exploring the theme of anti poverty, as part of their inquiry learning.  During Term 4 they teamed up with our School Chaplains to put their efforts to a good cause.

SPW Anglican Christmas Appeal Hamper

2021 Anglicare SA Christmas Hampers

One group of students which includes Samuel T., Elizabeth X., Tiana B. and Marius F. have been helping the school Chaplains by distributing and placing the Anglicare SA Christmas Hamper appeal posters around the school. They have also decorated the new Christmas tree in the Chapel and are placing the donated items under the Christmas tree.

Recycling Drive

Oscar M., Gaius V., Liam B. and Jak R. raised money by recycling their bottles and cans at home, after hearing of a story of a homeless man who collects recyclable cans and bottles to supplement his welfare.  These proceeds will go to Anglicare SA too.  Anglicare SA representatives will join us for the last chapel service of the year, where our donations we will be blessed, presented and packed into the Anglicare SA vehicles.

SPW Anglican Christmas Appeal fundraising

We are blessed in so many ways, and we bless others in Adelaide through our Christmas hamper drive.

Make a Donation

Donations can be left in the black boxes outside of the Chapel. Please remember, all food we donate needs to be in date and clothing, toys or personal care items should be new and unused.  Everyone deserves something new at Christmas.  Here are a list of suggested items.

Thank you to Rev’d Michele Yuen, School Chaplain, for sharing this story.
