Our current parents, students and staff were treated to something a little extra during our regular coffee morning when the ‘Little Blue Mobile Coffee Van’ rolled in.
The barista and owner of this gorgeous little coffee van is Vanessa Rawlins, a St Peter’s Woodlands old scholar.
We were lucky enough to spend some time with Vanessa and asked her a few questions.
When did you attend St Peter’s Woodlands?
I attended from 2000 – 2006, years 1-7. Realising now that it was 15 years ago has suddenly made me feel very old!
What do you remember about your school days here?
At school I used to love sports day and I was in Light. I remember having Mr Fletcher as a teacher in Year 5 and going on a fun school camp.
When did you start your business?
I started my business earlier this year in March. I came up with the name “Little Blue” because I have a rabbit named Blue and I thought that would be a cute name for a little van. Funnily enough it’s also how I decided on the colour too.
What is the best part of your job?
I love my job because I get to drink coffee and talk to lovely people all day.
What did you learn from your school days that has been especially helpful in your business?
Back when I was at school we didn’t use computers anywhere near as much as we do now and social media didn’t even exist. I remember really enjoying IT as a subject and learning so many basic computer skills that have definitely become useful now for things like designing my business’ website and running my Instagram page.
You can find the ‘Little Blue Mobile Coffee Van’ each week down at Ozone reserve in Henley Beach South. Opening hours are posted weekly on Vanessa’s Facebook and Instagram pages. @littleblue.van
