What an incredibly action packed Term 4 we have had at St Peter’s Woodlands. It has been full of both traditional and inaugural events.

Early Learning Centre Preschool Graduation

On November 16 we held our inaugural Early Learning Centre Preschool Graduation in St Margaret’s Chapel. We had many family members join us for this very special celebration of an important milestone in the life of their child.

The children had a wonderful time seeing photographs of themselves in full graduation regalia whilst shaking my hand and receiving their certificates. The cute factor was very high at this event.

Christmas on the Green

Our Christmas on the Green was another inaugural event held on Friday November 19. With just under 1000 members of the school community, despite the intrepid weather at times, it was a night to remember! Kicking the evening off with delicious food from the food trucks as well as some home baked goodies at the PFA stall was the right way to start.

With full bellies we were able to sit back, relax and enjoy the carols and some festive cheer together. We even had a special guest appearance from Santa Claus who took time out of his very busy schedule in the North Pole. We look forward to this being a much loved and anticipated annual SPW event.

Year 6 and 7 Graduation Dinner

On Thursday evening, November 25, you may have noticed the Nutter Thomas Lawn was completely transformed into a very elegant dining space complete with festoon lighting. This was another inaugural event as we hosted our first ever Year 6 & 7 Graduation Dinner and Dance with parents also invited to attend.

Despite the somewhat windy and chilly weather, I think it is safe to say a wonderful time was had by all. In fact I received many lovely emails of gratitude after the event.

“It really was a wonderful event with so many special touches and a huge amount of work. Everything was beautiful from the lights, table, signage, the presentations of the boxes (highlight!) and the dance. We all loved the photo booth (props were fab) so we dragged some parents in there to capture those memories too…..Thank you, what a wonderful way to end our 10 years at SPW. ”

On Sunday November 21, we were featured on South Aussie With Cosi. Now I admit I may be just a little bit biased but I do feel as though our school stood out from the crowd in this episode.

Cosi and his crew really managed to capture the essence of our school, including the natural beauty, stunning grounds, the community feel, the span of educational offerings and of course the chickens!

Thank you

As I reflect on the year that has been my gratitude must go to the incredibly hard working and dedicated teachers, the support staff (many of whom are working behind the scenes) and of course the community for making 2021 a truly memorable year.

A special thank you must go to Kimberly Hutchison and Kate Hobart who recently stepped down as presidents from the PFA and thank you to Sharee Morley for taking up the mantle.

I would also like to thank Mark Hayward and Tessa Moorfield who have been a part of the SPW Foundation who now will end their tenure at the end of this year. Also to Mark Hayward and Paul Lumsden who finish their tenure on School Council.

Finally to Tammie Pribanic who has been an incredible support to me both professionally and personally as she steps down from her role as Chair of School Council to begin a new chapter professionally.

May I take this opportunity to wish all of our SPW families a blessed and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
