The PFA school year has started off in full swing with so many crowd favourites.
Shrove Tuesday
It was wonderful to be able to celebrate Shrove Tuesday with pancakes for everyone! It always puts a smile on the children’s faces. A huge thank you to our Year 6 PFA Representative Christie Thompson and her team of helpers.
Clean Up Australia Day
The PFA in conjunction with the school hosted Clean Up Australia Day on Sunday March 3. Armed with gloves, buckets and tongs the school community wandered the streets around the school collecting rubbish that could otherwise end up in our oceans. Others gave Nature Play and the gardens a good clean up in preparation for the school lunchtime Gardening Club to plant out the beds with this season’s vegetables. It was lovely to see the children so enthusiastic about cleaning up the neighbourhood and learning about rubbish separation. Thank you to all who gave up their Sunday morning to lend a hand. We hope you enjoyed your cupcakes!
Parents Nights Out
To kick off Mad March and to welcome parents back to school the PFA hosted a Dad’s Burger and Beer night at the Glenelg Football club and a Mum’s Night Out at the Glenelg Surf Life Saving Club. Both nights were a great success and an opportunity for parents to let their hair down, catch up with friends after the summer break and make new friends too! A huge thank you to the venues and to everyone that came along.
Easter Delights
Easter wouldn’t be complete without an Easter Raffle and this year the prizes did not disappoint. Vouchers to TreeClimb, Bounce and The Beachouse were up for grabs along with chocolates. Congratulations to all our winners and thank you to the Year 2 Representatives, Tania Yeowart and Jennifer Phelan for organising the raffle so seamlessly. Kyton’s Easter goodies were delivered to the classrooms just in time for Easter. A huge thank you to Christie Thompson and her team of volunteers for coordinating the fundraiser.
Free Coffee, Yes Please
What’s better than Junior Glee? A Junior Glee Performance with free coffee of course!! The PFA love to bring the community together with everyone enjoying a coffee and sensational music. It was lovely to have our ELC parents join the school community on a slightly cold Wednesday morning for a chat and to watch the Junior Glee perform. Well done Junior Glee!
Coming Up
The PFA can’t wait to come back in Term 2 to celebrate all our lovely Mum’s for Mother’s Day and we’re excited to offer our community a special way to spoil their wonderful mums, step mums, grandmas or that special person at our much loved Mother’s Day Stall. Opening during the Week 2 of Term 2 (May 6 – 10). Students from ELC to Year 6 will have the opportunity to visit the Mother’s Day stall with their teachers and choose a gift for the special person/s in their life. The gifts are $15 and can be purchased right now through Qkr! Refer to Audiri for full details.
Plus there is the PFA School Disco and of course we are all so excited about the Silver Gala Ball in August….more information to come.
