The magic of Easter
In the lead-up to the term break, the spirit of Easter was alive and well across St Peter’s Woodlands, with a range of special events and activities that brought students, staff, and families together in celebration.
Preschoolers visit St Peter’s Church Glenelg
Our Preschoolers walked to St Peter’s Anglican Church in Glenelg to celebrate Easter. Rev’d Andrew welcomed the children and shared the church’s history, including its link to St Peter and the symbol of the keys—featured in the school’s logo. The children heard a simplified version of the Easter story through a picture book, sang Easter songs, and toured the ‘Stations of the Cross’, artwork created by older children. They ended the visit by singing “Happy Birthday” to Rev’d Andrew for his 60th birthday.
Acts of Service
During the first week of the April holiday program all children will make individual Easter cards that will be delivered to each resident at the Kapara Residential Care Home, bringing in the SPW value of Service.
Easter Play
The Chapel Choir proudly continued their Easter tradition by presenting a moving performance of The Tale of Three Trees, a mini-musical with a powerful message. Based on a Christian folk tale, the story follows three trees with big dreams whose paths take unexpected turns—reminding us of purpose, hope, and belonging. With a simple script and beautiful songs, the choir—led superbly by our Year 6 students—captivated the entire school and our parent audience, who sat spellbound while the choir shared in the true meaning of Easter.
Easter Egg Hunts
Reception students enjoyed their own touch of Easter magic with a joyful Easter Egg Hunt at the beautiful Partridge House Gardens. With baskets in hand and eyes sparkling, the children scoured the grounds for hidden treats. Thank you to the PFA Receptions Representatives for keeping this much loved tradition alive.
Easter Arts and Crafts
Throughout the week, classrooms from ELC through to the primary years enjoyed Easter-themed activities, from making baskets and decorating biscuits to creating sensory trays and crafts. Highlights included bird’s nest eggs, watercolour paintings, crowns, Easter baskets and a visit from a very energetic bunny.
As the term wraps up, these Easter activities provided a wonderful chance to pause, reflect, and celebrate together as a school community.
