ELC Playground gets an upgrade!
Throughout Term 3, the ELC children have excitedly watched the diggers and machinery redevelop their Pier St Playground.
Keen to connect with the team from Dirtwork Landscapes, some of the Preschool children wrote a letter to the landscape architects with their wonderings, such as ‘Who is the boss?’, ‘What is your favourite tool?’, and ‘Will the cubby have a roof?’ The children were delighted to receive a reply to their questions the next day!
After a highly anticipated wait, the ELC children were overjoyed by our Grand Opening on Friday, 9 September of the redesigned outdoor playground.
The Hastings Room children led the ELC in an Acknowledgement of Country and Reverend Andrew led a prayer to bless the new playground. There was a big cheer as Mrs Noell and Mrs Finlay officially announced the opening of our new outdoor play space.
Throughout the day, parents and children from each class enjoyed time to explore and discover the exciting new challenges and opportunities for rich, engaging play.
Highlights include two large, deep sandpits with water pumps, challenging climbing equipment for our 2 year old and older children, a tall look out with long slide, quiet nooks, and beautiful gardens beginning to blossom in spring.
