As we reach the end of 2025, we look back on a year filled with learning, connection, and remarkable growth across our whole school community.
From our youngest learners taking their first steps in discovery to our senior students undertaking ambitious, future-focused challenges, every year level has contributed to a truly inspiring school year. Together, we have celebrated achievements, overcome challenges, and strengthened the spirit that makes SPW such a vibrant and nurturing place to learn.
Snapshots of Learning
Over the last couple of months the students have presented their Snapshots of Learning. It is remarkable the depth of inquiry the students go into with their research and the creativity they demonstrate in presenting their projects. From dioramas, to stalls, to artwork, creating videos, baking food, dressing up, woodwork, song and language – the students have delved into their learning with the intersection of their specialty subjects to bolster and broaden their understanding of their topic.
- Receptions – Celebrations around the World
- Year 1 – Animals and their habitats
- Year 2 – Space
- Year 3 – Festivals
- Year 4 – Lifecycles
- Year 5 – Australian History and the Gold Rush
- Year 6 – Passion Project.
The skills into inquiry across the year levels culminate to our DARE Graduate Diploma Passion Project. The quality of there projects is outstanding and the variety of topics is amazing – from making rugs, to cook books and magazines, cakes and jams, sewing and engineering – it’s fascinating to see where each student’s passion leads them.
School Achievements
This year also brought significant recognition, with St Peter’s Woodlands named a 5-Star Innovative School and an excellence awardee for Australian Primary School of the Year — honours that reflect the everyday dedication found in our classrooms and corridors.
Students shone across Creative Arts, Sport, and Service in 2025. From an unforgettable production of The Sound of Music and inspiring SALA artworks, to excellent sporting results—including outstanding performances at the Anglican Schools Cup and School Sport SA competitions—our students continued to showcase talent, teamwork, and determination.
Their commitment to service was equally impressive. Through SSLC and Year Level initiatives, students led meaningful acts of kindness and community support, while partnerships such as Lion Hearts Learning empowered them to make a real difference for children and families in need.
Together, these achievements highlight not only the abilities of our students, but the strength of character, compassion, and community spirit that define St Peter’s Woodlands.
Building Works
We are thrilled to see major progress on the Dr Pamela Wall Centre, a flagship facility that will soon provide a theatre and indoor sports space, symbolising the school’s commitment to future-focused learning. We can’t wait to see the progress made over the summer holidays.
School Community
Throughout 2025, the tireless efforts of staff, families, volunteers, the PFA, Foundation, and School Council have shown that SPW truly is a village — one built on shared purpose, generosity, and a deep commitment to helping every student flourish.
Merry Christmas
We can’t wait for the final week and a half, when the celebrations reach full swing. As we move into the festive season, we wish all families a blessed Christmas — a time to connect with loved ones, celebrate the birth of Jesus, and find moments to rest, refresh, and renew. May the holiday break bring joy, peace, and a sense of gratitude for the year we have shared together.
