Grandparents & Special Friends Day Years 3 – 6

6 November 2025

The school was filled with excitement, smiles, and laughter as students from Year 3 to Year 6 celebrated Grandparents and Special Friends Day.

Under a bright, sunny sky, the school welcomed around 400 visitors to share in a morning of warmth, joy, and connection. It was a wonderful opportunity for students to express their gratitude and show their loved ones what life and learning at St Peter’s Woodlands is all about.

Year 3-4 Chapel Performance
The morning began with the Year 3/4 Chapel Service, which set a cheerful tone for the day. The service was filled with heartfelt moments as students performed a range of songs that delighted their grandparents and special friends. The theme of gratitude and family shone through every performance, reminding everyone of the special role that grandparents and friends play in our lives.

Year 5-6 Chapel Performance
Following this, the Year 5/6 Chapel Service brought plenty of laughter and entertainment. These older students showcased their creativity through a variety of presentations and performances that they had created especially for their guests. From witty skits to fashion parades and a musical number, the students’ efforts were met with applause, laughter, and smiles all around. It was clear that a lot of thought and teamwork had gone into preparing these performances, and the sense of pride from both students and visitors was unmistakable.

Classroom Visits
During the morning, students were excited to welcome their guests into their classrooms. This was a highlight of the morning, as grandparents and special friends had the chance to see firsthand what their young learners have been working on throughout the year. The classrooms buzzed with conversation and activity, as visitors were both impressed and delighted by the children’s enthusiasm for learning.

Morning Tea
The celebrations continued with a morning tea enjoyed by all. The outdoor spaces of the school were filled with happy chatter and laughter as families and friends gathered to relax and enjoy delicious treats together. It was the perfect way to bring the school community together.

Grandparents and Special Friends Day is always a cherished occasion at St Peter’s Woodlands, and this year was no exception. It was a day to celebrate love across generations, to recognise the invaluable role that grandparents and special friends play in supporting and nurturing our students, and to share in the joy of learning and community. Thank you to the PFA for generously giving up their time to ensure everyone received a warm drink and biccie.
