Year 3 to 6 Sports Day

21 June 2024

Bringing Cheer, Courage and Champions – a day of teamwork and grit!

What a perfect day on Friday, 24 May, for our St Peter’s Woodlands Upper Primary Sports Day. Seeing all students from Years 3 to 6 enthusiastically participate in the day’s track, field, and novelty events was incredible. Well done to all the students who tried new events, strived for their best, cheered, supported, and encouraged those around them.

Old Scholar Volunteers
Thank you to all the staff and our record number of returning Old Scholars (50!!) for their support in judging, marshalling, taking photos, recording, giving out ribbons, supervising the houses, and recording distances and heights in the field events. It was incredible to have so much support from our Old Scholars.

Thank you also to the parents who attended the Athletics Carnival and cheered on the students; it was lovely to have such a great atmosphere at the track.

The spirit of sportsmanship and friendly competition was not just present but celebrated throughout the day. Students truly embodied SPW’s values of respect. All students’ positive attitudes significantly contributed to the day’s success and made for a fantastic day to be a part of.

The end result
A special congratulations to Light for their fantastic overall efforts across the day, taking home first place!

Congratulations to all on such a memorable day!

Welcome Lizzy
At Sports Day, we also welcomed a new member to our PE Department, Lizzy Hayman. After a whirlwind day at the carnival, Lizzy has begun work in the PE office as our new PE and Sports Administrator. Lizzy is the current Senior AFL Coach at Walford and previously worked as a student ambassador at UniSA in admin and event management. She is currently completing her International MBA, amongst other volunteer sporting commitments. Lizzy is contactable via the Sports email at [email protected] or [email protected] and works a full day on Tuesdays and a half day on Thursdays. We trust you will warmly welcome Lizzy to the wonderful SPW community as she settles into her new role.
