ELC Grandparents & Special Friends Day

26 September 2024

The ELC was filled with love, laughter and smiles when the Grandparents and special visitors spent the afternoon in our ELC rooms.

Sharing their learning spaces
The children eagerly showed the visitors all the learning experiences on offer, and happily made playdough creations, participated in role-playing in the home corner and at the Byron Room Puppet Show, explored a variety of craft activities, read books, built with the blocks and even danced to ‘Danny Go’!

Exploring Pier Street Playground was also a favourite, where the grandparents helped dig and create sandcastles and tunnels! Thank you to all our special visitors  – you are all such an important part of our SPW community!

Stories of Safari Adventures
Keeping in the theme of Grandparents, on Wednesday the Byron Room children had Hugo’s Grandma, Juju come in to talk to them. Juju has just came back from an incredible holiday to Africa where she went on a Safari. She shared some amazing photos of the different animals she saw on the trip, read a funny story about the different bottoms safari animals have, then helped the class create their very own lion masks. Byron Room cannot wait until Juju visits the children again next term!
