The artworks are an unconventional self-portrait exploration, a culmination of learning from Year 6 students in Visual Arts lessons looking into how identity can be portrayed.
Students analysed examples of Archibald Prize portraits throughout history and identified how artists tell a story of a person. Students have been encouraged to work with a high level of independence, taking risks, experimenting with different techniques and selecting their own subject matter and materials.
This year SPW have contributed to the exhibition with their own interpretations of narrative portraiture. A small selection of whole year group pieces from Year R-6 and from some of our staff will also be on display.
This event is part of the DARE – Year 6 Graduate Diploma.
