The Day of Extraordinary Wrap Up

9 June 2023

St Peter’s Woodlands held its first Giving Day, The Day of Extraordinary.

The day was a spectacular celebration of our school and an opportunity to raise funds for an ambitious building project, the redevelopment of Baddams Hall into a theatre, sports and multi-purpose centre.

We were blown away by the generosity of our SPW community and were thrilled to reach our target, as well as entering a bonus round. The money raised goes a long way to bringing this project to fruition. We really look forward to sharing more about the project which will play an integral role in supporting the amazing curricular and extra-curricular activities that the school offers, as well as being a space we can share with the wider community.

Thank you to all our matching donors and to everyone who donated on the day.

The onsite celebrations were truly amazing, and we could not have asked for a better day with clear skies and sunshine. We cannot overstate how special it was to have Grandparents and Special Friends onsite to share the children’s learning with them, but also to enjoy a morning tea in their company. Having them back onsite and witnessing the special connection they have with their grandchildren reiterated how much we have missed these opportunities over the past couple of years. We look forward to sharing more with our Grandparents and Special Friends in the future.

And of course, having parents share in the children’s excitement of performing the Flash Mob will hopefully be a treasured memory for all involved. The sea of yellow moving together was quite a sight!

The Day of Extraordinary could not have happened without the generosity of volunteers, who gave their time to ensure all the moving parts of the day came off. Thank you to the PFA and parent volunteers, members of the Foundation and the staff of SPW.

We’d also like to thank the Year 6 students who showed great leadership in giving school tours and helping with the delivery of the donuts. We were very proud of all the children and their wonderful performances. Thank you all for supporting such a wonderful event.
