A magical evening celebrates the Year 6 Graduation Dinner.
In early December, the Year 6 students, their families, and teachers gathered under twinkling fairy lights for the 2024 Graduation Dinner—a night to remember.
Dressed to impress, the students arrived filled with excitement, finding their seats before gathering on the steps of St Margaret’s Chapel for a special year-level photograph. Many also enjoyed capturing memories with friends at the festive photo booth, capturing a memory to hold onto for life.
Mrs Kerry Ramsay, Head of Primary, welcomed everyone to a delightful two-course dinner on the beautifully decorated Nutter Thomas Lawns. During the meal, each Year 6 student received a special Graduation Box, presented by their class teachers alongside Rev’d Michael Lane, Chair of the SPW School Council. As the boxes were handed out, teachers shared each student’s favorite SPW memory, creating heartfelt moments for all in attendance.
After dinner, parents lingered over dessert and conversation, while students headed to Baddams Hall for an energetic session of dancing with their teachers, enjoying their favourite songs together.
The evening concluded with everyone gathering in St Margaret’s Chapel to watch the Year 6 Canberra Tour video and hear a final address from Principal Mrs Helen Finlay. This touching finale provided a moment to reflect on the unforgettable experiences, friendships, and unique learning opportunities that shaped the students’ journey.
The Year 6 Graduation Dinner was a fitting celebration of achievements and memories, marking the end of an era and the beginning of exciting new adventures for our graduands.
