Old Scholars’ Scholarship

The Elaine Balfour-Ogilvy Memorial Scholarship was created by the Woodlands Old Scholars in honour of Old Scholar Elaine Balfour-Ogilvy.

The Elaine Balfour-Ogilvy Memorial Scholarship

From 2023 the Elaine Balfour Ogilvy  Memorial Scholarship will be available to a Year 5 student who attends St Peter’s Woodlands Grammar School to apply for as a subsidy to their Year 6 school fees.

The Scholarship is awarded and funded by the St Peter’s Woodlands Old Scholars’ Association. Old Scholars may add to the fund at any time and the amount given has historically been around $1500, to be paid directly to the scholarship recipient as a subsidy to their Year 6 school fees.

It was created by the Woodlands Old Scholars in honour of an old scholar, one of the Australian Army nurses who died in the horror of war after the fall of Singapore.

Qualification

The candidate is required to send a letter of introduction and a copy of their CV for a panel to evaluate.

There is then a short interview during which the candidate may show certificates, photos of awards and any other portable items to substantiate their CV and which they think may enhance their chances of winning the award.

The written presentation is assessed as well as the students demeanour, achievements and enthusiasm.

Applications should be emailed to:
