In Week 8 this term, Year 5 students went on school camp to Willow Creek Camp on the Fleurieu Peninsula near Victor Harbor.
After an early start at school, students waved goodbye to Mum and Dad and hopped on the bus which took them straight to their first activity.
Students were required to use their critical thinking and problem solving skills in a series of team building challenges including giant puzzles and slingshots. This was followed by a kayaking session in the sunshine.
Once students arrived at the campsite they began setting up for the night, either in tents on the hill or in dormitories. For dinner the students were set the task of making their own dinner using trangias.
After a full day of activities students got a good night sleep in preparation for the second day, which was equally jam packed. Activities included assembling billy carts to race, orienteering and an introduction to abseiling. On the final day of camp, students packed up their belongings and headed to Moana for a surf and a bike ride.
Willow Creek Camp was an exciting outdoor experience, in which our students had the opportunity to exercise independence, work with others and have some fun with their peers and teachers outside the classroom.
