Term 3 Highlights
What a fantastic Term 3 it has been for the PFA! From social evenings and family breakfasts to BBQs and musical performances, it has been wonderful to see our school community coming together, having fun and supporting our school.
Dad’s Burger & Beer Night
The PFA kicked off Term 3 with the Dad’s Burger & Beer Night at the Glenelg Club, with 40 dads coming together for an evening of great food, plenty of laughs and good company. A huge shout-out to Scott Burley for his generous donation of Milwaukee tools and merchandise, Beach Meats for donating the delicious meat tray and to the Hodges family. The raffle prizes were amazing!
Thanks to everyone who came along and supported the night. Together, we raised an impressive $1,769 for our school — what a fantastic result!
Mum’s Day Out
In early August, 100 Mums came together at Patritti Wines for a well-deserved afternoon of catching up, relaxing and enjoying some time together. The afternoon was filled with live music, plenty of great conversation and, of course, a few bubbles! It was wonderful to see so many mums enjoying a well-earned break and celebrating the fantastic community we have around us.
A huge thank you to Bec Stevens for organising such a wonderful afternoon, and to Tiffany Noble and Jessie Hurst for their help with the raffle on the day.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who generously donated prizes, including Amanda Khalil from Hello Mandy, Pluto Spirits, The Pacific Oyster Co., Attitudes Boutique, Core Plus Glenelg, Endota Glenelg, Patritti Wines, and Elle Stewart from Elle the Cosmetic Nurse.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community and local businesses, the PFA raised an amazing $2,258 through the raffle!
Father’s Day Breakfast
We were thrilled to host our much-loved Father’s Day Breakfast, serving up a delicious spread of warm ham and cheese croissants, breakfast pies, sweet muffins, yoghurt and muesli pots, and juices. It was wonderful to see so many families gathering together to enjoy breakfast and take part in our Father’s Day Challenge Cards. From frisbee throws and footy kicks to Vortex throws, paper-plane making, the photo wall and, of course, Dad jokes — there was plenty of fun and laughter!
A special thank you to Mediterranean Cafe Ristorante for generously donating a $100 voucher for our challenge winner. A massive thank you also goes to our amazing Year 5 PFA Representative, Hayley Mudge, and her wonderful team of volunteers: Shannon Raniga, Natalie Brinkworth, Brooke Birkby, Amanda Khalil, Jan Chatterton, Emily Johns, Emily C and Harrison R. Some of our fabulous volunteers were up bright and early, preparing everything before the sun had even risen!
We hope all our dads, grandads and special father figures had a truly memorable Father’s Day.
Junior Musical Pre-Show Refreshments
The Junior Musical, Spring Chicken, was the perfect way to finish off the term. What a sweet and entertaining production! Once again, the PFA hosted pre-show refreshments at “The Hen House Bar” in the shelter shed over the 2 nights. The atmosphere was fantastic, giving families and friends the chance to mingle, enjoy a drink and grab a bite to eat before the show. A huge thank you to our wonderful bar volunteers Bec Stevens, Lorraine Hanley, Heather Chatterton, Jessie Hurst, Tiffany Noble and Sophie Flint for helping make the evenings such a success. We couldn’t have done it without you!
And a very special thank you to Chris Jobson for creating the amazing giant egg signs for the bar. They were such a fun and creative addition — what a talent! After 2 wonderful nights, we definitely all have a little “spring” in our step!
Wednesday Afternoon BBQs
Our Monday afternoon BBQs have continued to sizzle this term, with many afternoons completely selling out! From Term 4, we’re moving the BBQs to WEDNESDAY AFTERNOONS!
Same time. Same place. Just a different day! So, make sure you head over to the shelter shed on Wednesday afternoons to grab your favourite afternoon snacks. We’re always looking for volunteers to help keep the tongs turning! If you’re available from 2:00–2:15pm on Wednesdays and have your volunteer clearance, we’d love your help. Please keep an eye out for the Audiri volunteer form if you’re able to lend a hand.
