Celebrating Connections, Memories and Generations at St Peter’s Woodlands

There is something truly special about bringing people back together, and recent weeks have provided some wonderful opportunities to celebrate the enduring connections between former St Peter’s Woodlands, Woodlands CEGGS students and the families who have been part of our story.

Woodlands Reunions
We were delighted to welcome back some very special groups, including the ‘girls’ of Woodlands CEGGS, who gathered to celebrate two significant milestones – the 50-year reunion of the Class of 1976 and the 40-year reunion of the Class of 1986.

The Class of 1976 celebrations began in the most fitting way, with a tour of the old school, revisiting the familiar grounds where so many lifelong friendships first began. It was an opportunity to reminisce, share stories and reflect on the memories made all those years ago. The celebrations continued the following day, finishing in spectacular fashion with a long lunch in the city.

The Class of 1986 also enjoyed a wonderful opportunity to reconnect, gathering at the Glenelg Marina to celebrate four decades of friendship and the special bonds formed during their school years.

Class of 2025 Family Ties Reunion
We also welcomed back students and their families for our Class of 2025 Family Ties Reunion. With drinks and pizza in the spectacular new Dr Pamela Wall Centre, families had the opportunity to reconnect, share memories and experience the wonderful new facilities that are now part of the St Peter’s Woodlands story. It was a lovely evening celebrating not only friendships, but the special family connections that continue across generations.

St Peter’s Woodlands Immanuel Graduate Lunch
Another particularly meaningful occasion was our annual joint graduation initiative with Immanuel College, now in its second year. We welcomed back former St Peter’s Woodlands students who began their educational journey here and have now reached the exciting milestone of completing their Year 12 studies at Immanuel. The graduating students gathered on familiar grounds for lunch, a tour and an opportunity to reminisce, reconnect with old friends and catch up with teachers who were part of their early schooling years. Seeing these young people return as confident, proud Year 12 graduates was a wonderful reminder of just how far they have travelled since their days at SPW.

While each gathering celebrated a different chapter in our community’s story, they all shared one common thread – a genuine sense of belonging and connection.

Whether returning after 40 or 50 years, sharing memories as a family or revisiting the place where their educational journey began, our Old Scholars and families remind us that St Peter’s Woodlands is much more than a school. It is a community, a family and a place where connections are made that last a lifetime.

Thank you to event organisers, SPW staff and the Old Scholars’ Association for all the support and hard work in bringing these events together.
